She said don’t say thank you
Just get in
She always went into bat for me
She always believed in me
With the exception of joining the circus and getting a motorbike
She’s the kind of grandmother thats not afraid to tell you to fuck off
She’ll let you put up her christmas decorations
But if you’re doing it whilst wearing ripped denim,
shell make you take them off so she can repair themwhile you continue decorating in your underwear,
Which makes sense because she’s never been one to shy away from everyday nudist activities
She’s the kind of grandmother that’ll tell you roundabouts are for other people
She’s the kind of grandmother that will be there at the drop of a hat
As long as she’s dressed- if she’s not- don’t drop the hat for 1.5 hours, and she’ll be there when you drop it
She’ll look into the soul of you
and give you that sweet milk tea
And him?
He’s forged of Iron bark, sandstone and steel
A one man army
And a heart filled with honey
Sometimes in the light you can see behind his eyes
A small band of wild monkeys that invite you to dance
He’s the kind of grandfather that makes you want to make him laugh
Because there is none much a sound like ed’s laugh
He’s the kind of grandfather that will take on monstrous projects that would make other men run
And she’s the kind of grandmother that would be by his side
And him hers
They are they staying kind
The growing kind
When she cooks for you
She’ll show you what love tastes like
When he says goodbye to you,
when he holds your arms and looks you in the eye
he’ll show you what love feels like
When you hear them together
They’ll show you what love sounds like
When they love you
They’ll show you what love feels like
Like sweet milk and honey
Awesome poem!
