Holism

Once there was one
She says she walked alone
buried her treasure in the sand
in a blue dress with yellow hair
made a wish upon a star
that one day
one would be two
with a heart that rang like a bell
ricochet across the universe
and echoed in four hearts
Fruits from the same tree

I waited for you
like she waited for you
I summoned you
like she summoned you

and you came to me
in an instant
Your eyes cast wide
Searching the room as I spoke to you
and you found me
and i found you
In your navy blue eyes
there were oceans
and galaxies
Between us
You found me
and i found you

Time circles
Ravaging the edges
Eroding the pathways
from you to me
we are one but we are
Fractured
Expanding
and contracting
divided
the sum of our parts
we fall to pieces
Alone
You’re speaking a language no one understands
Outside this village
it takes a village
and when all the people have left
no one speaks the language
You can walk the earth
and they laugh at your joke
but they don’t get it
and they listen to your song
but they don’t get it
and they see your dance
But they don’t get it
and they watch you stumble over their words
Because you cant run in yours
when there is no one left
to hear it

I waited for you
like she waited for you
I summoned you
like she summoned you

like fire needs air
Like earth needs water
like metal needs fire
the ecology is such
that they
cannot exist independently
of the whole
cannot be understood
without reference
to the whole
And in a wink
a touch
a laugh
there is a universe
of things unspoken
of things shared
of things loved
of things lost
of things found
of things remembered

I waited for you
like she waited for you
I summoned you
like she summoned you

and in the
the secret world of sisters
of mothers
of brothers
you found me
and i found you
